Had two people fishing today. Started out at Cross Point, we enjoyed watching several eagles flying while we were long lining Caney Creek & Sand Creek, striper were still laying on about every hump. Caught a nice limit of quality striper. Another great day on the Lake.

Hearing reports of slow bait fishing so I decided to go old school. My Son-in-law & Grandson came down from Wichita, KS to visit, so of course we went out fishing. Started long lining using deep diving storm lures along shore lines in 18 to 20 feet of water. The striper were staged on every small drop off. We caught our limits of quality fish in under 3 hours. This is the time of year to catch big fish.

Fishing has been either good or bad no in between. Fishing under the birds is your best bet. Look for birds and the fish are there. Sassy shad or live bait are both working.

Left boat house at 6:00 am and started throwing for bait around the lights bait was scattered but caught enough for the trip. I had pre fished so plan was to set anchor in 30 foot water in Rock creek. Stared catching fish as soon bait was down. The striper were on the small side at first but bigger fish moved in and it was game on. Limit of good striper by around 11:00 am.

Striper on surface, early is better. Just at sunrise and for about two hours striper were hitting surface in front of scout camp at Mill creek. Boats would come in fish would go down boats would leave striper would surface again. Stayed in same place and caught several 17" to 20" fish but they were skinny not much to filet. Twenty striper and we were done around 9:00 am.

Getting out early setting anchor at 5:30 no later than 6:00 at the dam, the stripper are in shallow water (20 t0 30 ft)just look for the boat show. What has been working for me is seven to ten turns off the bottom.

Started out looking for striper hitting top water. There was a few on top between the islands but the majority were smaller fish. We were able to catch and release several decent size striper using 3 inch chug bugs.

Nothing much has changed. Shad are in 20 ft water in about every cove until day light. Striper has stayed in the same area for over two weeks. Fishing in 50 ft of water close to the dam (17 pulls)Just look for the boat show. Striper are a little skinny but still are fighting very hard.

Shad is coming back slowly. Getting enough to fish trips in coves 10 to 15 foot water. Catching striper on live bait along the face of the dam five turns off the bottom.

Bait fishing today catching nice striper along river ledge around north island in 50 feet water. Shinners are working great. Not much wind today didn't really need to anchor. Fish were coming under us steady.
