Welcome
My name is Sterling Smith and I would like to be your striper fishing guide on beautiful Lake Texoma, "the striper capital of the world". I want to keep this site very simple, easy to use and informative, so please read on.
I fish one trip a day so we will fish for up to 6 hours. I don't try to get a limit caught and run you back into the dock. I like to fish people and that is what we will do, provided the fish let us. If we are hooking fish to where they won't survive, we will have to stop and clean our fish. Bring the kids! I enjoy being around kids and watching them fight with stripers. It is a great way to interest your kids in a great outdoor experience and spend some quality time together out on the lake. Children under 12 fish for $40 with each paid adult!
I hold OUPV Merchant Mariner Credential #2909112, issued by the United States Coast Guard, am licensed by the States of Oklahoma, Texas and carry the required liability insurance for guiding on Lake Texoma.
Begining January 1, 2010, all fishing guides on Lake Texoma must have a merchant mariner credential issued by the United States Coast Guard and carry a minimum amount of liability insurance. Make sure that the guide you have chosen to fish with has the correct credentials required for taking customers on the lake. All vessels on the lake are subject to USCG checks and will most likely be escorted off the water as well as being subject to other penalties without proper credentials and inspections. Be sure that you choose a guide that is meeting all federal and state requirements to help insure that you and your party have a good time while on the water.
I can fish up to 6 people in my 23 foot 2009 Falcon.
CORPORATE and FAMILY TRIPS are more than welcome! I will arrange for enough experienced guides and their boats to make the trip a good experience for your entire group. Just give me a phone call for group rates.
I clean and fillet your fish at the end of the trip. I provide freezer bags to store the fish for your trip back home. You will have some prep work left to do with the fillets, but I will show you how it is done.
Book a trip today and get your date reserved before it is gone. Booking a year in advance is not too early!
I have been a fisherman my entire life, but became addicted to striper fishing in 1999 when I fished Lake Texoma with a good friend of mine that had fished here for years. I have not fished on another lake since that day. I fished here as often as I could with dreams of making a permanent home here some day and that finally happened for me. I am a retired firefighter and love to take people fishing because I want to.....not because I have to. I am a "full time" guide and fish year round with many other experienced guides. We are all able to keep up with how the fish are working and where they are at for any given time of the year and share our information daily.
I live in the Caney/Soldier Creek area on the Oklahoma side of Lake Texoma. It is a very central location on the lake and easy to drive to from anywhere in the country. It makes a good starting point on most mornings without having to travel long distances across the lake to find fish.
We can now provide you lodging of our own, if you prefer. It can save you from having to find accommodations yourself. There is a "LODGING" tab at the top of the page where you can view it. It is for our customers or anybody just coming to Lake Texoma and wanting a fully furnished place to stay instead of a motel room. I will make recommendations to you on other places to stay overnight depending on where you are traveling from if can't fit your needs.
Testimonials
“Sterling,
Thanks so much for the awesome day. We had a blast. I think we may try to come in a couple of months with some men who are tough enough for the cold. I am not sure how much colder I could take it but I may have to "man up" for the boy!

“Sterling,
What a great time yesterday it says a lot to me when a guide can go out on a day with 20 plus mph winds and still produce good quantity fish. As you well know wind is the biggest nitemare to a fisherman not rain, cold ,heat and or snow.
Thanks again and see ya soon ...

“Sterling,
Just a note to let you know how much fun we had. What a remarkable day and hard to believe it was November. We went duck hunting the next morning and Caleb shot his first duck. What a week end. Great time all around. Always a good time with you.
Thanks again
